PH.D. THESIS

Title- Efficient Methods for Clustering of Sentimental Data using Nature-inspired Algorithms [Abstract]

Thesis Work:

1. Proposed four new variants of cuckoo search and an efficient grey wolf optimizer for efficient clustering of sentimental data.

The proposed variants are-

  • Spiral cuckoo search (SCS) [Paper]

  • Binomial cuckoo search (BCS) [Paper]

  • Hybrid cuckoo search [Paper]

  • Grey wolf optimizer with simulated annealing [Paper]

2. Proposed efficient feature selection methods to eliminate the irrelevant and redundant features from sentimental data.

Related Paper-

  • Feature Selection method based on hybrid data transformation and binary binomial cuckoo search [Paper

  • Feature Selection Method based on Grey Wolf Optimization and Simulated Annealing [Paper]

3. Proposed an efficient feature representation method to remove the correlation and dependencies among features simultaneously for enhancing the sentiment analysis process.

M. TECH. THESIS

Title- Semi-supervised spatiotemporal classification and trend analysis of satellite images

Abstract:

Classification of satellite images can be used for land information extraction, i.e., land cover maps, forest maps, industrial maps, residential maps, flooded maps, etc. The classification can be performed using any of the two methods, namely the supervised classification method, and unsupervised method. However, supervised classification methods require extensive training with existing training datasets. For satellite images, it is difficult to generate a training dataset for all the land cover types. Therefore, this thesis proposes a novel semi-supervised classification method to classify satellite images. The efficiency of the proposed method is tested on satellite images of the Delhi and Himalayan regions. Experimental results validate that the proposed method outperforms the existing methods.
